Indy Gateway has received a $75,000 grant from the Central Indiana Community Foundation’s Connected Communities Initiative, which is supported by a grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc. This funding is dedicated to building the Chapel Rock Trailhead, providing safe access for Wayne Township residents to the B&O Trail. The trailhead project will be further enhanced by the City of Indianapolis’s plans to add a multi-use path along Girls School Road, extending from Perimeter Road to 21st Street. This will improve access to the trail for our diverse community.

Lisa Bentley, Executive Director of Indy Gateway, stated, “The trailhead aligns with our initiative to improve the quality of life, emphasizing that where we live matters. Our efforts focus on enhancing health standards, promoting cultural opportunities, providing access to trails, expanding green spaces, and beautifying our community for all residents.”
